Tracy Jennifer Johnson was born and raised in London, TJJ told her school career counsellor that she wanted to be a spy. She actually became a dancer, then an interior designer with her own practice, teaching at Chelsea College of Art. Since going nomad in 2001, she started a tour company in the Andes and has published over a hundred books in different genres under various pen names.
The Ruby Redlick historical mystery series was inspired by family stories about great-great Aunt Ruby who lived in Monte Carlo, with her brother Joseph, a professional gambler who lost the entire fortune in the 20s, although the house on Tooting Bec Common remained in the family for over a century. Writing the saga affords the opportunity to delve into personal passions for all things theatrical, literary, artistic... and conspiratorial.
As an only child, books were her companions and a love of history developed when she discovered Jean Plaidy's Tudor novels at the age of nine. TJJ now divides her time between London and the southern highlands of Mexico, where coffee and chocolate grow wild. Like Edith Wharton she works most mornings in bed, surrounded by orchids and looking out on purple jacaranda trees.www.tracyjenniferjohnson.com
