Minstrel is a child of pledge - pledged the night of her birth to Griselda, a woman with healing powers. On Minstrel's 12th birthday, Griselda comes to claim her. Minstrel learns all she can from Griselda until Griselda's cruel ambition is revealed, and a choice must be made.
