The Queen of Horror is back with her classics being released on Amazon for a new generation to enjoy!

— “This is what started it all, my infatuation with Ms. Jensen's books … a fantastic horror novel, filled with really creepy images! This was one of those rare books that actually had me too freaked-out to turn to the next page!”

— “It was this book that kept me on my toes at night and made me jump over any ring of a bell.”

— "This book was one of the best horror books I've ever read. I couldn't stop reading it and I am reading it for the second time!!"

— "Her stories are written in a way that u can actually picture in your mind what is going on. It’s like u are watching a movie."

— "Ruby Jean Jensen is perhaps one of the most underrated horror writers of all time."

— "Ruby is one of my all-time favorite authors. In my opinion she is far better than Mr. King himself."

Ruby Jean has been recognized as truly a pioneer of the horror genre and a trailblazer for women authors in horror. She is fondly remembered by her fans, many of whom were teenagers when they first read her novels. New fans will be fascinated to explore her 30 novels! Each novel is standalone, with new characters and settings. HOUSE OF ILLUSIONS explores the mysteries contained in a House of Mirrors (historically called House of Illusions). Like all of Ruby Jean’s works, HOUSE OF ILLUSIONS will be highly appreciated by both young and older adults.

To quote Sophie Clark in a posting found online: “Part of what I find so comforting … is the genuine empathy and tenderness Jensen has for her characters. Her depiction of lonely, isolated children is particularly touching. I was moved by how she expresses the self-doubt children experience when their relationships with family members bring disappointment … The thoughtfulness Jensen brings to rendering her characters only makes it more surprising when she kills them off … sweet, kind characters of all ages suffer too. This ratchets up the suspense. Somehow, Jensen’s brand of colorful horror manages to never feel mean-spirited — which is quite an achievement, given the extravagance of some of her death scenes.

Originally published in 1988, HOUSE OF ILLUSIONS follows sisters Amy and Jodi as their lives suddenly change. Amy and Jodi hardly remembered their father who lived and worked in a carnival, but now they were going to live with him. Their lives were soon disrupted by two mysterious murders that were somehow related to the history of the House of Illusions.

The original cover of this book was a trailblazer itself. Publisher Zebra Books claimed it was the FIRST-EVER FULL COVER HORROR HOLOGRAM!! Unfortunately, it is very difficult to take still images to show the impact of the hologram. Check for images at your favorite social media site to get an idea of how impactful the original cover was.
