In the autumn of 1941, the British Eighth Army in North Africa is reeling under the relentless onslaught from General Erwin Rommel's newly-formed, Panzer Army. With the coastal fortress of Tobruk heavily under siege, and its fall looking imminent, it seems that nothing can stop Rommel from penetrating Egypt and seizing the vital Suez Canal.
Back in England, Wing Commander Ken Armstrong receives new orders. He must take his squadron to North Africa and set up a secret base in Libya, deep behind enemy lines, from where his bombers and fighters can carry out surprise attacks on Rommel's supply lines and airfields. It is a daunting and dangerous task, and if the base is discovered by the enemy there can only be one outcome...
