Growing up in an Air Force family took Marci across the world, inspiring an interest in culture and travel, but her passion for history sparked while living in Yorktown, Virginia, where locals still tell Revolutionary War tales.

Her friends found it odd when she was the only one who didnt complain on field-trips to the Jamestown colony, and collecting headstone rubbings wasnt exactly considered a cool hobby. Shell never admit to hopping the wall at the Colonial Williamsburg Governors Mansion after dark just to explore the moonlit gardens, but she did spend days roaming battlefields and visiting forgotten plantation homes.

She began traveling again, writing along the way, delving into bits of history that caught her fancy. The plot for Girl on the Golden Coin evolved slowly after a trip to London, where she first learned about the Stuart royals. In a labor of love and learning, Marci dropped to part-time nursing, became a member of the Historical Novel Society, and devoted years to study things about the Stuarts no one bothered teaching her in nursing school. She now resides in the Midwest with her husband, making hair-bows for their daughter, trying not to step on their sons Legos, and teaching a tiny Pacific Parrotlet to talk. - See more at: http://marcijefferson.com/about-marci/#sthash.v4A11tOz.dpuf
