Laura Jacobs is a contributing editor for Vanity Fair, critic, and author. She has also written for the Atlantic Monthly, the Village Voice, the New Republic, the Boston Phoenix, and the Chicago Reader.

Jacobs wrote the novel Women About Town and a book of dance criticism, Landscape With Moving Figures: A Decade on Dance. She is the dance critic for The New Criterion.

Jacobs is married to Vanity Fair columnist James Wolcott, the author of Attack Poodles and Other Media Mutants.
