An odd sight greets travelers on a busy motorway late one dark night - they spot a bloodstained and half-naked man dodging traffic. Eventually cornered by the police, the man tells a story of murderous assassins pursuing him, firing guns at him. Suffering from trauma-induced amnesia, the man is admitted by the police to a psychiatric ward. But he can do little to enlighten Dr. Elizabeth Santer, the physician assigned to his case. What he does remember brings chills to the doctor and her team: The man reveals a detailed knowledge of sophisticated weaponry and military techniques that indicates possible training in terrorism. When two armed guards responsible for the man's protection are found murdered outside his door and Dr. Santer is abducted at gunpoint by her patient, the police issue an all-out manhunt for what they now assume is a dangerous killer.
