Middle-aged professor and amateur sleuth Bel Barrett gets more than she had bargained for after agreeing to teach Vinnie Vallone's Funeral Services class the art of writing, when Vinnie turns up dead, the victim of foul play, and one of his students, a born-again ex-con, becomes the prime suspect.
