The only volume of short stories by this Texas-born author of In A Wild Sanctuary, Hell's Full, and Savannah Blue, who died much too early. The title story of this collection, about a near-future blood sport that serves as an outlet for the public's increasingly antisocial feelings, was the basis of the 1975 movie Rollerball, starring James Caan and Ralph Richardson, which has become something of a cult film.
