Sarah-Jane Dresden finds the first few pages of an uninspiring horror novel under her bed, but as she begins to read it, she realizes that the doomed heroine is herself and that the writer knows all her secrets. As more pages appear, Sarah-Jane is faced with a battle to preserve her own identity.
