Sarah de Almeida Hoyt was born in Porto, Portugal. She holds an MA in English and Literature and has pursued Shakespearean studies as a hobby for over twenty-five years. She is the author of Ill Met by Moonlight, which was named one of Locus's Best First Novels of the Year and was a finalist in the novel category for the Mythopoetic Society Award.
