aka Rachel Howzell

Rachel was born in Los Angeles, California fifteen days after Paul McCartney announced the split of the Beatles. As a child, she kept a pen in her hand, writing everywherein notebooks, on loose-leaf paper, in her big brothers prep-school yearbook and on the back of church bulletins. But never on walls, buildings or freeway overpasses. That is graffiti.

For four years, she lived in the forest at UC Santa Cruz. There, she received a degree in English and American Literature, and helped to charter the Pi Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated.

She lives with her husband and daughter in L.A.

Missing White Woman (2024)
Kellye Garrett
"Kellye Garrett has done it again with Missing White Woman - she's given us a heroine that could easily be our BFF, sister, or daughter, as well as a twisty plot and relationships that are complicated and authentic. Garrett expertly mixes sorrow and grief, humor and identity with the chaos of social media, making this suspense novel a propulsive read. Garrett remains a writer to watch."
thumb
Such a Lovely Family (2024)
Aggie Blum Thompson
"Fun and engaging, Thompson's latest 'whodunnit,' showcases her knack for sly humor and building suspense. Secrets, money, murder... What could possibly go wrong?"
thumb
Anywhere You Run (2022)
Wanda M Morris
"So powerful! Though she's writing about the past, Wanda Morris tells a story that feels incredibly relevant today. With its menacing characters and emotionally wrenching situations, Anywhere You Run made me hold my breath for two wonderfully well-drawn heroines."
