The peaceful existence of the sleepy Arizona town of Mountain Peak is cruelly shattered by the arrival of a bunch of outlaws, led by the unspeakable killer John Bannock. By murder and intimidation, Bannock quickly proceeds to take over the town...but for what purpose? The townsfolk turn to the one person who might possibly save them: the man-mountain, Randle Meredith, an urbane Eastern gentleman - until, that is, somebody crosses him. Aided by his son Bart, and Bart's wife Jane, Meredith first sets out to discover the real reason why Bannock should have targeted their town. Thereafter, there are no holds barred in what becomes a personal duel between Meredith and Bannock, with death and destruction awaiting the loser.
