Michael Hemmingson lives in San Diego, where he has worked, at various times, as a journalist, theater director, newspaper editor and pizza maker. His other books include Wild Turkey, Minstels, The Garden of Love, The Rooms, and the trilogy, House of Dreams. He co-edited Expelled from Eden: A William T. Vollmann Reader and received the first novel-in-progress grant from the San Diego Book Awards Association for The Rose of Heaven
