Douglas Edward Macdonald Hastings was a British journalist, radio and TV broadcaster (including BBC Television's "Tonight" programme) who wrote extensively on country matters and pursuits. He also wrote for "The Eagle" comic as Special Investigator; was War Correspondent for "Picture Post" and edited "The Strand Magazine" etc. He was married to Anne Scott-James, and was father of Sir Max Hastings.
