A MORE PERFECT UNION ~ Documents Securing the New U.S. Republic

Would you like the Founding Fathers to explain why the Constitution is such an amazing document to base our government on? In the Federalist Papers, three Founding Fathers do just that, explaining what was intended in the U.S. Constitution.

The Federalist Papers * The Emancipation Proclamation * The Gettysburg Address * The Pledge of Allegiance * Washington’s Farewell Address * & More

The Federalist Papers are 85 essays published anonymously in New York state newspapers 1787-1788 under the pen name “Publius.” The three authors comprising Publius were Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay.

Their goal was to convince New Yorkers to ratify the proposed U.S. Constitution, which had been drafted earlier in 1787. It was to replace The Articles of Confederation, which the country had adopted The Articles of Confederation for use the year after the Declaration of Independence was  signed. Now eleven years after the signing of The Declaration, a new, final U.S. Constitution had been created, But they had to convince New Yorkers to officially accept it.

Because Hamilton and Madison were both in the Constitutional Convention, these essays have been used to interpret the Founding Fathers’ intentions.

Learn why the Constitution was such an amazing, inspired document, one that created a country based on liberty that has drawn people from countries all around the globe who wanted to seek the American Dream. Is it still alive? Yes!
