13-year-old Jonmac is part of a group who set up a base on a distant planet, home of the Stiks - tall, spindly humanoids whose peaceful natures and primitive ways make them easy prey for the Dusters, a group of ruthless criminals. Jonmac must win the the trust of the Stiks in order to survive.
