Katrina baker is a super and she was banished just a month ago to a world of gods, magic, and evil races. A place without plumbing, electricity, Facebook, and lattes.
Things start to heat up between Trelin and Jendas, and a visit from the Dwarves isn't helping things any in that regard. Jendas shockingly commits, and with war coming Trelin will need all the help they can get. The dwarves need their help, and they need dwarven steel weapons and shields to shift the odds in their favor.
This mission is different though, Gerard is sent along with the group heading to the dwarven kingdom of Belirith as a guard for a high noble, and she's more than happy to join them. She finds out quickly though, that the job she's agreed to is nothing like she'd thought it would be, not to mention the task that the dwarves need help with is fraught with peril and a lack of understanding.
One more problem. There's a dark secret about Dwarven Steel, that not even the dwarves know about. Will she find out the truth in time, and manage not to anger the nobles she must guard, keep the deal with the dwarves, and do the right thing, all at the same time?
Sometimes, something has to give, will it be her sense of right and wrong, or will she truly step into trouble this time?
