Candy Halliday received her "B.S." Degree from The School of Hard Knocks. Majoring in "Doing Things the Hard Way" also prompted her to take a crash course in Curve Ball Dodging 101 from esteemed professor Life-Isn't-Fair.

Unlike the savvy women she likes to write about, Candy says she must have been taking a quick bathroom break when Life came down the line passing out those "Savvy For Dummies" handbooks. She married too young, divorced too soon, and struggled through most of her adult life as a single mom. The good news is, just like in one of her romantic comedies, there is a happy ending to this story.

The second time around, Candy got it right.
