Gr 5-7 Seventh-grader Melanie Edwards finds out what kind of trouble you can get into when you flirtexpecially when you flirt with three boys. The book's conflict centers around which boy Melanie will end up with: Scott, her elementary school sweetheart; Shane, football star and hunk extraordinaire; or Garrett, yearbook photographer and iguana owner. Readers will find this story a little too sweet and sappy and may wonder whether they're reading a story set in the 1980s or the 1950s, but they will perservere until the end to find out which boy turns out to be Melanie's true love.
