Gr 5-7 Giving in to the urging of her best friends, ``The Fabulous Five,'' Christie agrees to run for president of the seventh grade against a member of their arch rivals, ``The Fantastic Foursome.'' She admits to herself that she resents letting herself be manipulated. With the help of Jon, a classmate whom she tutors in math, she ingeniously devises a scheme to elect a mystery presidential candidate. The last chapter is a lead-in to the next book in the series.
