She'd made a mistake once in trusting a man. She was never going to make another. If that meant the only man in her life was the child she'd reared on her own after being betrayed, then so be it.He'd been coasting, accepting a relationship that when it ended, he'd felt nothing. Not sorrow, not relief. Just... nothing. Rather than stagnate, he needed to figure out what was missing in his life and correct the problem. It wasn't business - that was thriving. It was... well, everything else. The holidays were closing. A new year about to begin. It was a good time for changes. Her friends and family wanted Mallory Meyers to take another chance on love.Patrick Lonergan's twin brother wanted his brother to be happy. And Christopher Meyers wanted a Dad. So he decided to give his mom a date for Christmas and went to the man he trusted to help him find her one. Pastor Kevin Lonergan knew exactly who to call.Which is how Pat landed on Mallory's doorstep with a gift tag pinned to his lapel.AUTHOR'S BIOBeth Henderson, under various pseudonyms, is the author of 29 published romances. Some historical romantic adventures, but mostly romantic comedy. The SW of Cincy Romances started life as separate books and as most were originally written in the 1990s, were in desperate need of updating. Not only did Henderson dive back in to adjust electronics (most missing in those early halcyon days, others never envisioned) and relocate settings to the Cincinnati area or have ties to it, but also to tinker with the text since experience had changed her presentation of a story slightly. For the better!THE STROKE OF TWELVE is one of her favorites because, frankly, she would like to run away with Pat Lonergan. It also benefited from her years working retail at JCPenney, including a stint as a department manager. Doing so sent her back to college and out of retailing and into academics. Her BA in History benefited the historicals spun, but years of teaching English Composition to college freshman sent her hotfoot back into the world of fiction. However, one of the places she did teach was at Edison Community College in Greenville, Ohio, which features as the location for the Lonergan farm in THE STROKE OF TWELVE. A native of Ohio, she now lives on the other side of the Ohio River, in Kentucky.Visit her at www.RomanceAndMystery2.com for new releases, including the urban fantasy comedic mystery she writes as J.B. Dane.
