A thrilling ghost story about a haunted twin, and a serial killer — or is it all just in her imagination?

Kate's mother is endlessly busy with charity work, so the visitor in the front room must be just another of her recruits. Then Kate gets talking to her and hears the whole story of the visitor's early life — her identical twin, their abusive step-dad, their escape from home and subsequent ordeal with a child killer. As Kate goes on to talk to her mother, and then relatives, it transpires that the whole tale is fabricated, that the other twin died at birth. But if so, why has Kate seen a spectre of the dead woman? Is she going mad?
