In the second volume in Gideon's vampire trilogy, young and innocent Nicole Radouix suddenly learns of her vampire heritage and escapes to Paris to try to forget, and deny, what she is. However, her love for Marchand forces her to deal with her true nature and eventually come to a decision about their relationship.
