When Prince Fresacas returned from the Crusades, he was horrified to learn that much of the land he was to inherit is in the hands of the evil Karth. Fresacas' father King Haggert lost more land, but with the return of the prince and the loyal vassals, they expect to regain that what was taken from them. The fighting is fierce, but the Prince's forces seem destined to win until Karth unleashes a magical demon dog. King Haggert obtained the services of the same sorcerer who trained Karth. He was given a supernatural creature who would destroy the devilish canine. The remains of both otherworldly creatures are sent to an isolated spot in the New World. In a modern American town, two firefighters hunting in the woods come across an isolated grave with a cross in it. They dig up the grave and open up the burlap bag containing the devil dog's bones only to watch the remains transform into something else that will make the serial killer that is loose on the town look like a house pet. This is horror at its finest and most eerie, a must read for lovers of the genre as Nancy Gideon always thrills. Fans of her vampire novels will love her move into true genre horror. The transfer from medieval Europe to modern day America is smooth and seamless as the reader obtains two related books for the price of one novel that is so vivid it easily could become a movie.
