Catch Up to Love

(1960)
A novel by

June Marshall has come halfway around the world from Australia to England - with secretarial stopovers in Hollywood and New York - for a reunion with her childhood sweetheart Tommy Watson. Tommy has just gotten his big break in the theater, starring in a London revue with glamorous Gay Hyson. But the happy reunion doesn't come off quite the way June always imagined it. For one thing, Tommy is laid up with a back injury. For another, they aren't alone. Also present are theater "angel" Mrs. Thisby Maxton, her handsome nephew Ian Maxton, of course Gay Hyson, and Derrick Stafford - Gay's and Tommy's manager. When Derrick offers her a job, June jumps at it... for the chance to be near Tommy. It isn't until after she signs the contract that she learns what her main duty will be: to help persuade Tommy that Gay - not June - is the girl he should marry...
