Bart Shannon is the sole survivor of a herding party bushwhacked by rustlers on the Arizona trail.
Rumours soon circulate and Shannon realises that a crooked sheriff, who goes by the name of Zena Clayburn, has sworn out a warrant, charging him with conspiracy in the rustling of the herd.

He started his career as a research chemist for I.C.I, in 1952, and worked for them until his retirement.
