Time and Space
A non fiction book by John Gribbin

School Library Journal
Gr 6-10-An excellent introduction to cosmology and modern physics. Historical methods of time measurement and navigation are followed by theories of space and time, all covered in double-page spreads. The three laws of thermodynamics, especially the concept of entropy, are presented. Einstein's special and general theories of relativity are explained (without math); and how gravity makes curves in space and time is shown. Black holes, wormholes, string theory, Shrdinger's cat, and time travel are also discussed. The full-color illustrations are often small and have accompanying captions in small print. They convey a great deal of information; numbered or sequential pictures and text are often used to explain concepts. This book will appeal to students who like to deal with abstractions.-Margaret M. Hagel, Norfolk Public Library System, VA
