Indira Ganesan was born in Srirangam, India, and moved to St. Louis, Missouri, at age five. She is the author of two novels, The Journey and Inheritance. She was awarded fellowships at the Paden Institute for Writers of Color in Essex, N.Y., the Mary Ingraham Bunting Institute at Radcliffe College, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and the MacDowell Colony.At present, Ganesan teaches at Southampton College of Long Island University and Lesley University. She is also fiction editor of Many Mountains Moving literary magazine and is working on a novel, Finding Her Way Home.
