Odds on Murder

When Lester Pyne, the man who replaced Charley Hall on the city beat at the Kingston Tribune, asks for help with a story about corruption at City Hall, Charley grudgingly agrees, hoping it will prove to her editor she’s a serious reporter. But when a city official turns up dead at the site of the controversial land deal and Lester’s infant son is kidnapped, a devastated Charley fears her reporting may have been the catalyst. Now everyone is under suspicion and Charley faces her darkest days since the war when her husband went missing.
