The Poetry Diet

(2012)
A collection of poems by

There are shelves and shelves of books about love - but we can live without love. We can't live without food. Most of us have a much more fraught relationship with food than we do with our lover(s).
"I began writing these poems in 2009 at roughly the same time as I decided - at last - to get rid of the blubber that had accumulated over the years. As with my virginity all that time ago, I don't regard myself as having lost those extra pounds, so much as having delightedly thrown them away. I used a slimming club (worth every penny), invested in various forms of therapy to understand my compulsive eating (expensive), and wrote poetry. Cheap, but helpful. This book includes recipes. Obviously." Patricia Finney
