A novel by

Mark Mason is a successful business man with a smart wife and two sons who are about to leave the nest. He should be happy - but he's not. As his wife, Paula, embarks on a new business venture, Mark feels increasingly marginalised. It's not long before he seeks - and finds - solace in the arms of another woman. Intoxicated by new-found passion, but not wanting to hurt Paula, Mark secretly rents rooms in a house in Marylebone to carry on his affair. But Mark's double life ends almost as soon as it begins. Thrown out by Paula, Mark retreats to his rented rooms and begins to question where his unhappiness really came from. He looks for answers to questions he has never asked. What does he really want from life? Can he be happy in his old life? And will family and friends ever forgive him for seeking a world apart?
