Born in 1960 in Gothenburg, Sweden, to Greek and Austrian parents.

Studies at Stockholm, Paris, and Yale universities. Dr. phil. in 1991; docent in 2001. Several prizes and awards in Sweden and abroad.

Lives and works in Stockholm and Berlin.
