Jan Coverdale, recently separated from husband Roger, flies to Broadminster, England, with her children to visit her half-brother, Edward Langley. Edward and wife Rowena act suspiciously from the start, but depart shortly for Peru, leaving Jan in charge of their house. Soon thereafter, area police find the body of a man with Langley's identification in his pocket. One thing leads to another as Jan discovers lost Incan treasure, and Detective Chief Inspector Webb questions the Langleys in Peru. A quietly mannered procedural, with emphasis on domestic Jan and family. REK
