Born and raised in the deep South—and she has the fried chicken recipes to prove it. Though a voracious reader since childhood, she spent much of her professional life in business and computer pursuits. Finally giving in to those creative impulses, she began writing, and in 1999 she sold her first romantic comedy. She has since sold fifteen more books.

She’s an active member of Romance Writers of America, serving on the Workshop Committee and as chairperson in 2004. She’s a winner of the Georgia Romance Writers’ Maggie Award and has been a finalist in the Booksellers’ Best Award. She has also been nominated for the best Harlequin Flipside of 2004 by Romantic Times BookClub and received a CataRomance Reviewer’s Choice Award. In 2003, she was honored as a recipient of the Sandra Chastain Service Award, given by GRW. She often speaks at both regional and national writers conferences.

Except on Sundays during the NASCAR© race, she writes full-time from her home in South Carolina, where she lives with her husband, two daughters and a lively (sometimes troublesome) Shih Tzu named Cody.
