Year two at Harknell Hell begins with changes. It's the same school but a different experience. By order of the government girls are now allowed to attend and that is only the beginning.
Not only that but the Commander has decreed that this is going to be the hardest training year yet. After what happened to the Runners last year no one is surprised.
For Sam personally she has to content with mistrust on all sides. No one believes she got her griffin feather honestly. And then there's Arthur. Her feelings for him have only grown, and with that growth comes heart wrenching challenges.
By the end of the year Sam will have to make a stand. And if she fails there will be no redemption.
