Fragile is a coming-of-age story of a 10-year-old boy named Billy, who was born with a debilitating disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type III, leaving his bones brittle, weak, and susceptible to fractures in injuries most kids would shake off. But that’s not all; the disease is also a child killer, with an average lifespan of 10 years.

The once invincible boy now uses a wheelchair and pioneers a vision quest to escape his confinement. Young Billy has a love for football but has never played the game. “Too risky,” they said, or “What’s the point?”

When his father finds out that his mother’s new boyfriend used his son as a punching bag, he does the unthinkable!

Carter Reagan is a high school senior and quarterback of the Bangor Eagles. He wants to go pro, but there’s only one problem—he needs to be better, and he knows it.

Billy’s older sister, Lilly, is the prettiest girl in high school and has the eye of every boy, including Carter. Billy forges an unlikely friendship with the handsome quarterback, teaching him how to be a better player in a most unorthodox way.

As the young boy’s life clock ticks down, he dials in on his purpose, learning lessons in the woods of southern Maine before teaching them to Carter, the players and coaches of the Bangor Eagles.

Billy will get his 15 minutes of fame. But can he captivate the world in the little time he has left?
