Roxanne Bloom is surrounded by her friends who have all reached their 'happily ever afters' and she is having a hard time putting on a happy face every time she hears some wonderful news about a new baby or dream job. She certainly doesn't want to be a part of Mrs. Needleman's meddling matchmaking attempts. Roxie was hurt in the past by love, and after being canned from her newspaper job at the San Francisco Journal she decides to start her own website, www.i-vomit-on-all-men.com, and adopts Lilith, a high strung, severely aggressive mish-mosh of Boxer, Staffordshire terrier (the less incendiary name for a pit bull) and some kind of hound, possibly beagle.
