A novel by

As a boy in Tasso, Kansas, Abram Isaacs witnessed the horrific murder of his parents at the hands of four powerful men in the community. He was the only person who knew about their crime.
With nowhere to go and no one to turn to, he is taken in by a missionary family and grows up during the Civil War in Richmond, Virginia, where he follows in his adoptive father's footsteps as a clergyman. Suppressing the memory of his childhood, he finds love and begins to build a family of his own. Then, when in the happiest of times, tragedy strikes again.
Twenty years after his family's home burned to the ground, Pastor Luke Moss has returned to Tasso. He starts a church, he preaches the Bible, and he spreads goodwill throughout the town. He helps those in need, establishes friendships, and is even able to fall in love once more.
But beneath it all, Luke is driven by vengeance, and it's time those powerful men must pay for their sins.
