Eliezer Wren and the boy-warrior Yushuv have each been on the run, two Solar Exalted blessed by providence and cursed by fate. Hot on their heels are a bevy of dire opponents, including the Wyld Hunt of the Dragon-Blooded, the undead warrior Ratcatcher, the wolf spirit Bonecrack, and the unknowable Fair Folk. Behind it all, the Prince of Shadows, prized servant of Death itself, waits to strike them down and claim their souls as plunder.

When the two finally come face to face, they must stand and fight against not one, but all of their enemies. Even the Unconquered Sun may not be enough to save them both.
