Kai Rinaldi:

Things were going really well. After a solid career in the Marines, my best friend Martinez and I founded RAM Securities, a private security company specializing in the jobs that the government and law enforcement couldn’t, or wouldn’t take on. It wasn’t an easy road, but now we’re the first stop for any person or any government that needed a job done efficiently and discreetly. But even with everything I’ve seen in my life, nothing prepared me for the day I met Aspen.

Aspen Malling:

Life had not been easy for me. But after years of living under the brutal control of my father and uncle, my siblings and I were free. My younger brother and sister actually had a chance at a normal life, and us older kids were adjusting. Mostly. At least I had a job I loved as a technical expert with RAM and I finally had control over my own life. Sure, my growing feelings for Kai were unrequited, but that was fine. I had more in my life than I ever thought possible.

Then, everything changed. Just when I thought it was safe to move on with my life, new information tied one of our cases to my past, shattering the illusion of safety I’d built over the last 4 years. But as the danger grew, so did my feeling for Kai. At least they aren’t as one-sided as I initially thought. With so many obstacles standing in our way, not to mention the danger lurking just around the corner, we had to decide if it was worth pursuing a relationship, or were we better off going our separate ways?

Surviving the Storm is Book One in the RAM Securities series. This title has been previously published under the same title but has been significantly edited and revised. The POV has been changed to 1st person dual POV and some significant parts of the plot have been written and names have been changed. This ends in a cliffhanger for the plot and an HFN for the MCs. The series will continue with Saving his Sunshine and will end with a HEA. This is a dark contemporary M/M romance that features a boss/employee, an age gap, and BDSM elements.

Content Warning: Surviving the Storm contains darker elements including child abuse, sex trafficking, non-con and dub-con (not between the main characters), PTSD, and past trauma. The relationship between the two MC’s also features a consensual power exchange dynamic and other BDSM elements. Please see the content warning in the book for further details.

Genre: Gay Romance
