A Cruel Light (2023)
Cyndi MacMillan
"Intriguing, compelling, atmospheric . . . I was hooked on A Cruel Light from the opening pages. Annora is a hugely sympathetic protagonist, one you would like to have for a friend. I was fascinated by the details of art conservation, and the concept of restoring a mural to discover the truth about a long-ago murder. MacMillan gives just enough detail to the process without slowing the story. The paranormal aspects are mesmerizing, and work well within the whodunit plot, coming full circle at the end. Mounting danger accompanies the growing attraction between Annora and the local police inspector which will delight lovers of romantic suspense. It did me. Best of all: the ending will bring a smile to any reader with a heart. More please!"

The Almost Wife (2021)
Gail Anderson-Dargatz
"The best domestic thriller I have ever read. Kira is a highly likeable character caught in a sinister web of whom to trust: her fiancé and father of her baby, or his seemingly neurotic not-quite-divorced wife? Seeds of doubt are scattered in the very first chapter with faultless execution. This is a riveting, fast-paced thriller containing every woman’s nightmare; a missing child, the spectre of past abuse, and more than one haunting secret that threatens to burst into focus. The twists come with the impact of a rifle blast. Prepare to stay up all night reading this."

The Rage Room (2020)
Lisa De Nikolits
"If dystopian speculative fiction is your thing, with the enticement of time travel, you won't go wrong with The Rage Room. The world de Nikolits has built is utterly fascinating, and quite horrific, yet believable. I sympathized with the main character, even though he is flawed, but that makes the story even more interesting. What a ride! The plot ratchets up like a train speeding down the tracks out of control. Gripping tension, and at the same time, highly complex, with multiple time travel redos and memories overlapping. I found that fascinating. I was absolutely riveted, and pleased to see that it ends with the hint of more books to come."
