When lieutenant Leah Gentry, nurse and soldier, goes overseas as part of a team providing medical care for those in need, she knows she's in for long days and hard work, but she didn't expect to fall for Dr. Adam Sauder, or to become pregnant with his child; Adam thinks Leah night be able to save him from his haunting past, but he has nothing to give her, not even his love, still, when the mission is over and he discovers that Leah is in danger of losing their baby, he leaves his job to come to Kentucky; he would like to be a husband to Leah and a father to the baby, but he can't forget his past; he knows he should go but he desperately wants to stay.
