In the 1970's and 80's a stable of regular authors did Conan the Barbarian novels that were rousing, colorful, and frequently a joy to read. Carpenter was one of the better of those writers, and this is a tale of the Cimmerian battling for loot, life, and lust perhaps in the ancient land of Shem.
