Murder of Hilda Murrell
A non fiction book by Judith Cook

On the morning of Saturday, 24 March 1994, the body of an elderly woman was found in a copse six miles outside Shrewsbury. There were superficial injuries but later it would be said that the cause of death was hypothermia. Her car was in a nearby lane, skewed in a shallow ditch. Its presence had twice been reported to police, but nothing had been done. The police said, and still maintain, that the woman's death was the result of an opportunist burglary that went tragically wrong. The woman's name was Hilda Murrell - a 79 year-old rose-grower and anti-nuclear campaigner whose nephew, Robert Green, had been involved in the decision to sink the Argentine battleship "Belgrano". Her death coincided with frantic activity at the highest level to discover who was leaking information on the event to MP Tam Dalyell. This book presents new and previously unpublished evidence about the events surrounding the death of Hilda Murrell, and is an indictment of the behaviour of the government's security services.
