Ian McGann meets Death in a dream, and Death promises to answer his questions. The actress Arlen Ford leaves her wealth and flees to Europe and in Vienna, the terminally ill Wyatt Leonard discovers that he has the ability to raise the dead. Now the fates of all three converge.
