Rescued By You

(2014)
(The fourth book in the Destiny Bay -The Islanders series)
A novel by

No wedding today, the bride has escaped!
Ashley Winters comes across as a ditzy blond, but her choice of hiding places is carefully thought out. Too bad the absentee owner picks the same night to return to his vacation home as she picks to break into it. Complications ensue.

But no matter how much tough love dark, moody Max Carrington shows her, she knows she won't be going back to the wealthy crowd where she belongs. Max's Hawaiian style is much more appealing - especially when he mixes in some good old-fashioned sexy one-on-one attention. Time to plan a new wedding - one she might even show up for.

(The Destiny Bay Romances all take place in the same world and are loosely connected--but each story can stand on its own and each contains love scenes.)

Max was dreaming. That had to be it. He was dreaming of softness and a scent that made him want to hold something. And then he woke up and began to take in the room around him.
For one long moment he stared at his own hand with a growing sense of horror. His hand was on her shoulder. Ashley was in his bed. This wasn't the way it had been when he'd fallen asleep. What the hell was going on here?
Sunlight was streaming in through the window. It was late. He was usually up at the crack of dawn. How could he have slept right through her climbing into bed with him?
She looked even smaller in the morning light, her hair spilling out over his pillow, her dark lashes lying long and curved against her cheeks. What she looked was vulnerable - and he wanted no part of her.
He pulled back his hand as steadily as possible, breathing a sigh of relief when she didn't seem to waken. Then he began to inch his way backward, out of the bed.
A sound stopped him. Frozen with shock, he heard his name being called from the living room.
"Max? Don't tell me you're not up yet."
He groaned. There just wasn't any end to this run of bad luck, was there?
Ashley had heard it, too. Awake now, she was staring up at him, a strange wildness in her eyes.
"Who...?" Ashley began.
He shook his head, his finger to his lips. "It's my sister, Malia," he told her quietly, looking down at the golden picture she made against the white sheets. "Unfortunately, she has a key."
