Set in 18th-century Yorkshire, this novel tells the story of Hannah, the owner of a wool business, and her love for two brothers, Sam, a Quaker, and Robert, a ruthless businessman who sets up a rival cotton mill. The author's two other books are "A Kind of Paradise" and "A Thread of Gold".
