The Old West of the mid-1800s is the backdrop for some good old-fashioned cowboy heroes, and heroines, in this anthology of four romances by Jodi Thomas, Patricia Potter, Emily Carmichael, and Maureen McKade. There's Cooper Adam, whose old-maid sisters have launched a desperate campaign to find a wife for him; Seth Sinclair, whose homecoming from the Civil War is challenged by a young woman with a gun purporting to own his family land. The women don't have it easy, either: Tombstone Tess needs a man, lest her runty brother take over the ranch; Caitlin Brice is forced to call in her former love, Winston Taylor, because he's the only one who can tame her new horse. Issues of pride, stubbornness, and independence all go up in smoke when these wanted men finally find the right women. Ginger Curwen
