Land of Glory

(2003)
A novel by

Her 14-year-old son, Matthew, disappears from home. Yvette knows only that he was involved with a strange and secret cult. But where is he? No one knows, and the police are not much help. To save him, the attractive young mother is forced to join the cult herself. Now she, too, is trapped, whisked off to a hidden island in the Caribbean. It's the headquarters of the cult's charismatic leader, Father Valentine, a dangerous, womanizing fanatic. There she finds Matthew, but they have little chance of escape. The cult is merely a front for a private army bent on a desperate and suicidal mission. It's up to Yvette, as the only member not brainwashed, to stop the madness and rescue her son. She almost succeeds--until she finds herself betrayed by the one person she thought could help her.
